indoor pegboard garden

a modern alternative to the windowsill garden.

how cool! how counterintuitive!

i think i might make the hardware a bit more subtle, and consider color alternatives to the white background. how about celadon green with ferns for an early summer look? or if you live in LA, a shock of hot pink with aloe, cacti, and other desert plants? fun to think about the possibilities, and easy to implement....

thanks to misstana's flickr page for the image and the idea!

such a neat idea! my mother hung her kitchen tools on a pegboard in the apartment we lived in when i was really little, they are retro in a not trite way.

what exactly are the plants in? are they just bins that hang on the pegboard? i'm assuming i can pick them up at lowe's or something pretty easily. i hope. this'll be a fun thing to finally cover this four feet of wall next to me.

ethan, i think that the bins might be either hung or screwed into the pegboard-- they look fairly easy to duplicate, though, don't they? i'm so glad you are going to try it out-- send in pics when you do!

best,
phoebe

i'm going to see if my hardware store(s) have pegboard tomorrow, but i'm pretty smalltown, so i'm not sure if they'll hook me up or not. if not, it's the home depot on monday.

then i have to figure out what plants to put in it.
